Detect and stop problems before they occur
Professional Cleaning
A professional tooth-cleaning involves the removal of dental plaque to prevent cavities and gum disease. Our hygienists are highly skilled at removing hard-to-reach tartar not removed by routine cleaning. Deep cleaning involves the removal of plaque from below the gum line (scaling) and root-planing to smooth out the tooth root. To enhance the hygiene experience, we offer an add-on DentalSpa™ treatment option and can also administer oral conscious sedation.
Fluoride Therapy
Fluoride therapy protects teeth from cavities and repairs damage, causing the remineralization of damaged tooth enamel. Once we detect early stages of tooth disease using our DIAGNOdent® technology or other means, we can delay or avoid tooth decay with fluoride therapy and other preventive strategies.
Dental Sealant
A dental sealant is a plastic coating painted on the chewing surfaces of teeth to prevent tooth decay. The sealant bonds into the grooves of the teeth, forming a protective shield. We use sealants most commonly in pediatric care but can also administer them for adults if the risk of decay on the biting surface of a tooth is high.
Mouth Guards & Splints
Our dentists prescribe custom mouth guards or splints to treat involuntary teeth grinding, TMD (temporomandibular disorder), or sleep apnea (interrupted breathing while asleep). Each appliance is designed differently to fulfill distinct functions. Guards for TMD are designed to raise the bite and reposition the jaw. Splints for grinding act as a protective barrier between upper and lower teeth. For sleep apnea, mouthpieces are designed to keep airways open while sleeping, either by holding the tongue in place or repositioning the jaw.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening is performed by our dentists to look for signs of cancer or precancerous conditions in your mouth. Based on an initial consultation, we may decide that an oral exam or a special test is right for you.
